Jefferson City woman charged with a DWI, accused of causing a 3-car crash

Jefferson City police arrested Heather Horn after they responded to a three-car crash in the 2500 block of West Main Street.

According to the probable cause statement, Horn was traveling eastbound and improperly passed another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police said Horn’s vehicle sideswiped an oncoming car and struck another car head on.

Officers said Horn’s vehicle went off the road and rolled over.

The driver of the vehicle that Horn hit had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Police said Horn was taken by helicopter to the University of Missouri Columbia Hospital for treatment.

Officers said Horn was showing signs of possible intoxication prior to being transported to the hospital.

Police said Horn was slurring her words, confused, smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes.

Officers said they found bottles of wine that came from Horn’s car at the scene of the crash.

Horn admitted to officers she had consumed two bottles of wine prior to being involved in the crash.

Horn is charged with a DWI-serious physical injury.
