Columbia police arrest man accused of driving while intoxicated, crashing into parked vehicle

Columbia police arrested Aaron Hentges early Sunday morning after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Worley Street in reference to a vehicle collision.

Police said when they arrived on scene they saw a vehicle on its roof in the road as well as a vehicle with heavy front end damage in a driveway nearby.

Police said they made contact with Hentges, who identified himself as the driver of the vehicle that was on its roof.

Officers said they could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Hentges’ breath.

Hentges provided a PBT sample of .192% BAC, and at the Columbia police station he provided a full breath sample and yielded a sample of .199% BAC, police said.

Hentges was arrested and facing possible charges of driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.
