Centralia police arrest three after traffic stop, search warrant
Three people are now in custody after an overnight investigation by Centralia police Monday morning.
Chief Larry Dudgeon told ABC 17 News that it started when officers performed a traffic stop on Robert Smith, 51, of Columbia.
Dudgeon said a search of the vehicle yielded more than 9 grams of a substance that preliminary field tests indicated was crystal meth.
Smith and his passenger, Josiah Montague, were arrested and interrogated by police.
Montague was released with pending misdemeanor charges, while Smith was booked into the Boone County jail.
Investigators obtained a search warrant early Monday morning for a mobile home in lot 33 of the Centralia Mobile Home Park.
After serving that warrant, officers took 39-year-old Terry Reno and 29-year-old Spring Kite into custody.
Dudgeon said 4 more grams of meth were found at the mobile home in Centralia.
The three suspects are facing charges for possession of a controlled substance and other drug offenses.
