Heat to return in Mid-Missouri
TODAY: As the heat of the day gets underway, we’ll see mostly sunny skies and temperatures warm into the upper 70s. Winds will begin to shift out of the southeast under 11 mph, with gusts in some areas possible up to 20 mph. Despite the wind shift, it will still feel comfortable outside with temperatures only a few degrees above average.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies can be expected with warmer overnight temperatures than in nights previous. Temperatures tonight will bottom out in the low to mid 60s with southerly winds 7-11 mph.
EXTENDED: Summer-like weather returns as we begin the work week with high temperatures climbing into the mid-80s and nights in the mid 60s. Tuesday night into Wednesday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms return, as a cold front pulls through the region. This frontal boundary looks to stall to our south, keeping rain in the forecast from Tuesday night on into the weekend. Thanks to the rain and frontal boundary, we’ll see temperatures drop from the mid-80s into the low to mid 70s as we carry on through the week. Rain amounts will approach an inch in many spots, bringing beneficial rain to the region. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
