Early morning vehicle fire temporarily closes portion of Highway 63 in Boone County

UPDATE (2:45 p.m.): The Southern Boone County Fire Protection District said the driver was not injured in the crash.

ORIGINAL: Boone County firefighters and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers had to block off a portion of U.S. 63 north near Claysville early Saturday morning because of a car crash.

Online dispatch records show that firefighters were dispatched around 11:50 p.m. Friday, but emergency responders were at the scene for more than 30 minutes.

The car was turned over on its side and engulfed in fire, witnesses told ABC 17 News.

ABC 17 News is working to find out if anyone was injured and how the car caught on fire.
