Randolph County man accused of participating in robbery in which 30 guns were stolen

Randolph County deputies arrested Jonathan McCGinnis after he was accused of participating in a robbery at a residence in the 3200 block of Highway DD.

According to the probable cause statement, on Monday deputies went to the home of a victim who stated his guns and other property was stolen.

Deputies said the man came home and noticed items that belong in his safe were left on his dresser and then noticed a cellphone that he had never seen before sitting next to paperwork.

Deputies said the man answered the phone on one occasion and spoke to a person who called himself McCGinnis.

Mexico Public Safety officers arrested McCGinnis on suspicion of a city violation and called deputies.

Deputies interviewed McCGinnis, who said he was with two women at the time of the burglary. He said both women went into the house and came out with approximately 30 guns and various items.

Deputies said McCGinnis and the women stopped at Small Town Storage and placed the guns and other items inside one storage unit.

McCGinnis said he had three guns at his parent’s house, and went along with deputies to the house and retrieved the them, deputies said.

Deputies said they took McCGinnis to the storage unit and found the remaining guns and other property.

McCGinnis is charged with burglary.
