Home a complete loss after fire on Route F in Boone County

UPDATE: A captain with the Boone County Fire Protection District told ABC 17 News a neighbor saw the fire and called it into emergency crews.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw flames showing through the roof.

As of 6:30 p.m., crews were still working on the scene, searching for hot spots on the floors and walls.

The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowners who were not home at the time of the fire.

The captain also said they will have a fire watch throughout the night with assigned crews driving by the home to make sure flames don’t reignite.

ORIGINAL: ABC 17 news crews are on scene at a structure fire at 4661 Route F in Boone County.

More than ten units responded to the fire. Firefighters are trying to fight the fire from the outside.

There are no injuries and no one was home at the time the fire started.

ABC 17 is working to confirm what started the fire and what the cost of the damages are.
