Boone County burglary suspect arrested

UPDATE: According to the probable cause statement, Peek forced entry into a garage in the 2700 block of Calvert Hill.

Deputies said Peek damaged two lawn tractors by cutting the rubber fuel lines.

Peek removed gasoline from both lawn tractors as well as from a weed trimmer, deputies said.

Deputies said Peek took power tools, hand tools, other mechanical devices, and a rifle.

Deputies said the total value of items stolen was $750.

According to the probable cause statement, Peek has an extensive criminal history, including felony stealing related offenses.

ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County deputies arrested 28-year-old Daniel Peek after a traffic stop on Rice Road near Whispering Meadows Court Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators told ABC 17 News that on September 2, Peek was involved in a burglary on Calvert Hill Road during which tools and equipment were stolen.

Deputies say the stolen property was found in Peek’s vehicle during the traffic stop.

Peek is facing a second-degree burglary charge and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
