Homeless man accused of hitting, choking woman in Boone County

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for Laurence Estrada after being accused of domestic assault on a woman.

According to the probable cause statement, deputies responded to reports of a physical altercation between Estrada and a woman.

Deputies said when they talked to the woman she told them Estrada hit her on the left side of her face with a tent pole and cut her ear.

The woman said Estrada hit her multiple times and put a screwdriver to her neck and said “I will kill you,” deputies said.

Deputies said Estrada began to choke the woman who then began to feel lightheaded, had shortness of breath, trouble breathing and started to lose her vision.

The woman said that during the fight, Estrada knocked her to the ground, kicked dirt on her and said, “I will bury you and nobody will find you,” deputies reported.

Deputies said Estrada broke one of the victim’s cellphones and told her she couldn’t get hold of her family.

According to the probable cause statement, Estrada is homeless and has a history of unlawful use of a weapon, assaulting a law enforcement officer and domestic assault.

Estrada was charged with domestic assault.
