City of Columbia accepting applications for local government spots

On Friday, the Columbia city clerk is accepting applications for boards and commissions.

Boards and commissions are a way for citizens to be involved in local government and to represent the voices of their fellow community members.

The following are current boards and commission openings:

-Board of Adjustment

-Citizens Police Review Board

-Columbia Community Development Commission

-Commission on Cultural Affairs

-Personnel Advisory Board

-Substance Abuse Advisory Commission

-Tax Increment Financing Commission

City officials say applications must be received by the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 6.
