Missouri Task Force One members to leave Texas Tuesday

Most Missouri Task Force One members are preparing to leave Texas Tuesday to return home.

The 47 member team has spent more than a week in Texas helping with rescue efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

The task force posted an update on Facebook Monday saying it was preparing to demobilize from Katy, TX Tuesday morning.

The team is spending Monday preparing vehicles and loading equipment for the trip home and plans to be back in Missouri on Wednesday evening or Thursday.

Two task force members are not returning home Tuesday and are instead going to Puerto Rico. There, the members will work with a six member team ahead of Hurricane Irma.

As of Monday, it’s still unclear if Hurricane Irma will hit the U.S. mainland. It remains a category three storm.
