Two men accused in Pettis County killing, one arrested

Two suspects have been named in the shooting death of a man in Pettis County.

Leon Hinckley was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside a home at the Sunset Village Trailer Park on August 17. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

At the time, the Sheriff’s Office told ABC 17 News Hinckley and the two suspects were not from the Sedalia area, nor did they live in the trailer park.

On Thursday, The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office said Braden Hendren was arrested in the case with help from the Independence Police Department.

Hendren is from Independence. Authorities are still looking for the second suspect, Ronald Cage, who is from Kansas City.

Anyone with information on Cage is urged to contact the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office at (660)827-0052 or their local law enforcement agency.

*An earlier version of this story incorrectly spelled Braden Hendren’s name as “Branden.”
