Cooler Friday, summer-like heat by Sunday

TONIGHT: A cold front will track through Mid-Missouri tonight, bringing with it cooler air under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s, with winds out of the northeast under 10 mph.

FRIDAY: Northerly winds will bring cooler air in, keeping us in the mid to upper 70s during the day and dropping overnight lows in the low 50s for a cool night. The weather will be pleasant for SportsZone Football Friday with evening temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 60s by 9 PM.

EXTENDED: After a cool morning, Saturday looks nice as temperatures only reach near 80 degrees in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies as winds stay light, shifting to the west late in the day. Summer-like heat returns Sunday with high temperatures in the upper 80s, climbing to near 90 for Labor Day as we continue to have abundant sunshine. A chance of rain returns late Monday night into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through which will cool temperatures back to the upper 70s next Tuesday. Up to a quarter inch of rain is possible through early Tuesday. Much cooler air settles in for the middle of next week with days in the mid 70s and nights in the upper 40s to lower 50s, feeling like fall for the second half of the week.
