Cooler Friday, warming holiday weekend
TONIGHT: High clouds ahead of Tropical Storm Harvey will increase through the evening from the southeast. Our northwestern counties will see mostly clear skies through the overnight hours while areas south of HWY 54 will have some high clouds. Temperatures will drop to near 60 by morning with a slight breeze out of the north under 6 mph.
THURSDAY: High clouds from Harvey will spread as far north as I-70 but no rain is expected. Areas farther north will have more sunshine. High temperatures will reach into the lower 80s with northeasterly winds increasing to 10 mph by late afternoon.
EXTENDED: Northerly winds will bring cooler air in Friday, keeping us in the upper 70s during the day and dropping overnight lows in the low to mid 50s for a cool night. The weather will be pleasant for SportsZone Football Friday with temperatures dropping into the upper 60s by 9 PM. Heading into the weekend, we’ll warm up Saturday into the lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. It will be a hot day Sunday as we reach the upper 80s with a light westerly breeze and sunny skies with the summer-like weather continuing for Labor Day as we reach into the upper 80s to near 90. A chance of rain returns late Monday night into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through which will cool temperatures back to the upper 70s next Tuesday. Much cooler air settles in for the middle of next week with days in the mid 70s and nights in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
