Fire department, police on scene at Harold’s Doughnuts

ABC 17 News crews are working to find out why several Columbia Fire Department crews and Columbia police officers responded to Harold’s Doughnuts early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters and officers were dispatched there shortly after 5 a.m.

According to ABC 17 crews on the scene, there were four fire crews and at least two police officers on scene.

9th Street was also blocked at Broadway.

ABC 17 News was told smoke was coming from a vent in Harold’s. The building was evacuated as a precaution. Residents were allowed to return shortly before 6 a.m.
