Philly Diner in Eldon suffers heavy fire damage after hours long fire

The City of Eldon Fire Department was called to a report of heavy smoke from the Philly Diner on 403 East 4th Street in Eldon on Monday.

According to an official release, the City of Eldon Fire Department responded with four pieces of apparatus and eight personnel. The fire brought in crews from neighboring departments with fourteen different pieces of apparatus and 54 firefighters.

The Eldon Police Department helped to evacuate the motel, which had four people staying in it.

The fire was contained after three hours. The restaurant had heavy fire damage and the motel has some smoke and heat damage.

There were no injuries in the fire, but it is still unconfirmed how the fire started.
