Drugs recovered from Eldon home

The Eldon Police Department recovered methamphetamine and marijuana from a home on South Maple Street Friday.

Police responded after getting a report there was methamphetamine at the residence, which is located across the street from Eldon South Elementary School. When officers made contact with the people living in the home, they spotted illegal items in plain view. That’s when they got a search warrant and served it right before school let out.

Inside, they reportedly found methamphetamine, marijuana and multiple glass pipes.

Police say children attending the nearby school were never in any danger during the search, and there was no information leading officers to think weapons were present.

Prior to officers serving the warrant, the police chief says he contacted the Eldon School District’s superintendent of the pending action. Officers were then assigned to protect the school until any residents of the home were taken into custody.

Kelly D. Martin and her husband, Aaron J. Martin, were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, and their bonds were set at $35,000 each.
