Katy, Texas next destination for Missouri Task Force One

After spending a few hours in Rockport, Texas, Missouri Task Force One was reassigned to Katy, Texas, a suburb west of Houston.

The team’s marching orders involve performing water rescues, which are needed as the city is experiencing record flooding.

The task force sent of its members to College Station, Texas, as part of an incident support team through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

“These members are helping to manage the federal Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces from across the country,” said Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp of the Boone County Fire Protection District.
