Columbia police investigating shooting near Columbia College

Columbia police confirmed gunshots were fired in the 600 block of north College Avenue around 1 a.m. Saturday.

A sergeant with the Columbia Police Department said an off-duty officer was in the area when they heard gunshots.

Police found several gun shell casings in the area.

At this time, police do not have a suspect or vehicle description.

The incident is still under investigation.
