Columbia police arrested 25-year-old Anthony Acton Wednesday night, suspecting his connection to a home invasion robbery in the 900 block of Huntridge Drive.
Officers said they responded to a report of an armed robbery just after 8:30 p.m.
According to the police report, two men entered the home, one of which was brandishing a gun and threatening a 23-year-old victim.
Police said the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene in a vehicle.
Officers were able to get a description and the license plate number for the suspect’s car.
A trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol found the vehicle a short time later in the 1100 block of Smiley Lane, Acton in the drivers seat.
CPD made a traffic stop and during a search of the vehicle, officers say they found money, heroin, marijuana and a gun.
Acton is a convicted felon and police arrested him on suspicion of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, carrying a concealed firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance.
No bond amount has been set for Acton’s case.
Police said the investigation is ongoing as they work to find the other suspect.
