Eight day campaign report deadline for candidates vying for 50th district seat
The deadline for the eight day campaign report for two candidates wanting to replace Caleb Jones’ 50th district seat is up.
Republican Sara Walsh and Democrat Michela Skelton had to have their reports submitted to the Missouri Ethics Commission by 5 p.m. Monday.
The Missouri Ethics Commission updated the numbers around 7 p.m. Monday.
Walsh has raised $60,000, whereas Skelton has raised more than $98,000.
Walsh currently has about $45,500 on hand for her campaign, whereas Skelton’s dipped to about $26,000.
Both candidates have spent some money for advertisement. Walsh has spent more than $13,500 on things like shirts, social media banners and campaign signs.
Skelton has only spent about $75 on a Facebook ad.
According to the report, Skelton’s had previously paid nearly $8,600 to a polling company out of Seattle, Washington, along with paying a few campaign workers.
