Seasonable weather conditions return to Mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: After several days of hot and humid conditions, we finally get a breather tonight. Temperatures will bottom out in the mid and upper 60s under mostly clear skies. The cooling trend comes as a cold front is clearing Mid-Missouri, which will bring northeasterly winds through the evening under 8 mph. These winds will aid in keeping humidity on the low side, which is much needed after the heat we’ve recently experienced.

MONDAY: Enjoy the morning hours tomorrow, as temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s. We’ll see sunny skies through the day, with a few passing clouds by late in the afternoon. Humidity will be low and winds will be out of the northeast under 10 mph.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will begin to warm up again by Tuesday, rising back into the lower 90s. As we head into the middle of the week, we’ll see a ridge build right back into Mid-Missouri. This ridge won’t be as strong as the recent heat wave we saw, as an approaching cold front will help suppress the ridge. We do see a brief stint of heat as temperatures Wednesday will be in the mid 90s, with heat indices near 105. By Thursday and Friday, the aforementioned cold front will drop into the area, giving Mid-Missouri another chance for rain and storms along with another cool down.
