Diminishing storm chance leads to a beautiful weekend

FRIDAY: Storms mainly isolated south of I-70 will continue for the early morning hours, but will not be severe. Localized flooding could be an issue because pockets of heavy rainfall can be expected with these storms. Any early morning showers and t-storms south of I-70 will end by mid-morning and skies will gradually become mostly sunny through the day. It will be more comfortable as high temperatures reach the low to mid 80s, with lower humidity and a northeast breeze up to 10 mph. TONIGHT: Tonight will be a calm and cool night as skies remain mostly clear. Temperatures will finally drop back into the mid 60s with a breeze out of the north subsiding through the overnight hours.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks mostly sunny with high temperatures in the upper 80s Saturday and lower 90s Sunday. Overnight lows will continue to drop into the mid to upper 60s. A building ridge from the west will allow the return of the heat and humidity for next week. Temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s Monday and Tuesday and the mid-upper 90s by Wednesday and Thursday. Heat indices could climb back into the triple digits. Storm chances return toward the end of next week. For additional weather updates follow us @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
