Hot & humid through Thursday, increasing storm chances

TONIGHT: It will be another warm, muggy night with winds out of the southwest at 5-8 mph and mostly clear skies. Low temperatures will fall into the mid 70s. WEDNESDAY: The Heat Advisory continues until 7 PM for Chariton, Saline and Macon counties where heat indices will reach 104 to 107 degrees. High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s Wednesday with heat indices 100- 105 in most of Mid-Missouri.winds will come in from the southwest at 10-15 mph under mostly sunny skies. EXTENDED: Storms in far northern Missouri Wednesday night could make it as far south as HWY 24 in northeastern Missouri by Thursday morning. These will spread clouds into areas north of I-70 early Thursday while areas farther south will have mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will heat up into the low to mid 90s south of I-70 Thursday and stay in the low 90s farther north with heat indices at 98-103 degrees. A cold front will move south Thursday evening and overnight, bringing a chance of storms. Temperatures will come down a few more degrees Friday with a better chance of storms early in the day, keeping high temperatures in the upper 80s and heat indices in the lower 90s.We will stay near 90 for highs this weekend under mostly sunny skies.
