Fourth of July holds a chance for spotty showers

TODAY: In the morning there is a slight chance for scattered thunderstorms for our far southwestern counties. Temperatures will be in the 70s in the morning hours. As we head towards the afternoon, storm chances will be on the increase, especially south of I-70 as clouds cover will also be on the increase. Severe weather is not expected with these storms. We will see high temperatures in the upper 80s and winds up to 8 mph from the southeast.

TONIGHT: Overnight holds the greatest chance for storms all the way through the morning hours. Areas south of I-70 continue to see the greatest chance for these spotty storms. There is a marginal threat for severe weather with the biggest threats being hail and damaging winds. Temperatures will be mild with the overnight low dropping to 70 degrees.
