Man charged with burglary after Gumby’s break-in

A man is charged with burglary after he broke into Gumby’s on June 6.

Jack Pritchett allegedly broke into the restaurant around 5 a.m. He then emptied six kegs of beer onto the floor. The cost of the kegs and the window he broke totaled around $900.

Around the time of the break-in, Pritchett allegedly called in multiple false reports of gunshots and disturbances around Columbia. Police later caught up with him at his home on Walnut Street. They found cuts consistent with broken glass on his hand, arms, and feet.

Pritchett is charged with burglary and property damage.
