Man charged with child abuse in Moniteau County

Moniteau County deputies charged a man with domestic assault and two counts of child abuse Thursday.

Deputies say Chris Salzman is responsible for injuries caused to a young child. He allegedly assaulted the child Feb. 28. Law enforcement says the injuries were consistent with being shaken, and left the child with multiple brain bleeds and a broken arm.

Salzman is currently registered as a sex offender in Morgan County.
