Woman sentenced in Columbia motel death
A Columbia woman was sentenced to 20 years on Monday for charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Jaclyn Rose pleaded guilty in May after a man was found dead in a central Columbia motel last fall.
According to police, Rose was seen on surveillance video as the last person to leave the victim’s room before his body was found the next day. The victim, Gregory Moore, was found in his room at the Welcome Inn on Nov. 17, 2016, with a gunshot wound.
