Showers likely through the day
MONDAY: Waking up we will have a cool start as temps bottom out in the mid 50s. Morning showers are possible through the morning near I-44 between 3-6AM, as a line of showers increases from the west. Through the day we will have the chance of seeing some showers, with a few thunderstorms possible. Highs will be cool, only topping out in the mid 70s. Winds will be out of the southwest under 8 mph. Rainfall amounts from .25″ to .50″ is possible, with greatest accumulation occurring west of Highway 63.
TONIGHT: Lingering showers are possible through the evening. Temperatures will drop once again into the mid 50s with partly cloudy skies that will clear by late Tuesday morning. Winds will remain calm.
EXTENDED: Into Tuesday we will see the return of 80s in the forecast, with a gradual warming trend. Tuesday will be dry and sunny, as we will see temperatures rebound back into the 80s. Humidity will be on the increase through the week with temperatures. climbing back into the upper 80s. Active weather looks likely as we head into the end of this week, as a cold front will slowly track through Missouri. This could allow for heavy rainfall with the potential for some isolated flash flooding areas. Strong storms can’t be ruled out, but for now it’s looking to be storms below severe criteria. Rainfall amounts through the weekend will likely exceed three inches in many places. By the weekend, temperatures once again fall below normal, with highs back in the lower 80s.
