Man turns himself in after allegedly breaking in, damaging Mizzou Arena in vehicle
A man is facing possible charges Monday after he turned himself in for breaking into Mizzou Arena in a vehicle early Sunday morning.
Police say it happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday and say they were first notified around 7:15 a.m. for reports of damage.
An investigation revealed a person drove a vehicle through a closed gate on the south side of the arena and through a closed garage door that led into the dock area.
Police say the driver then went into the arena and struck a couple of golf carts before leaving through the same dock door.
They say the driver then drove through the press gate on the back side of the arena and left.
Police say they developed a suspect identified as Nathaniel Conant. They say Conant turned himself in just before 4 p.m. Sunday.
MUPD says it’s still working on a damage estimate, but says it anticipates the figure could be around $100,000.
Conant was arrested on suspicion of burglary and property damage. He’s already bonded out of jail.
