Woman accused of stealing guns from Callaway County home

A woman faces several charges in Callaway County after she’s accused of stealing several guns from a Holt’s Summit home.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by ABC 17 News, Nika Mann, 35, is charged with five felony counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, four counts of stealing a firearm and one felony count of second-degree burglary.

An arrest warrant has been issued for her.

On March 20, Mann is accused of breaking into a home in the 1700 Block of Lee Street in Holts Summit around 11 a.m.

The homeowner told Callaway County sheriff’s deputies four guns were stolen.

He identified Mann as a potential suspect after he met her online and she had been at his home the previous night. Both also took part in shooting the guns that evening.

Last week, investigators received a break in the case after a serial number from one of the stolen guns was entered into an online tracking database.

Deputies discovered the firearm had been pawned at a pawn shop in Cairo, Missouri. A detective learned from the store’s owner the weapon had been pawned for $200 by an Armstrong, Missouri, man on May 11.

Investigators later spoke to Mann’s aunt who told them she had been with Mann and another man when they stopped at the home in Holts Summit on March 20.

Mann allegedly went inside the home and came back out 10 minutes later with a duffel bag. After the group returned to a motel in Midway, Mann sold one of the guns to another woman for $250.

That woman then sold the firearm to the man who pawned the weapon to the store in Cairo.

At last check, it does not appear Mann has been taken into custody.
