Storms for parts of mid-Mo by late this afternoon
TODAY: Sunshine for the morning into the early afternoon, but a chance for storms develops mainly after 2PM south of I-70 and west of US 63. Another round of storms is expected by evening from 5PM-7PM near HWY 65. Southwestern mid-Missouri is under a marginal risk. The strongest storms this evening could produce damaging wind gusts up to 50 mph and hail up to 1″ in diameter.
TONIGHT: Storms will be possible overnight for those south of I-70. Areas north look to remain mostly dry. Rain amounts will range from 0.01″ to 0.10″ along I-70 to up to 0.50″ near the Lake of the Ozarks. It will be mild with lows only dipping to 60.
EXTENDED: Thursday morning will bring another round of storms by 9AM-11AM near HWY 65 and possibly into Columbia by 11AM-12PM. This will all be in part due to a weakening complex system that will have developed west, weakening with time as it tracks east into Mid-Missouri tomorrow. An upper level low looks to track south of Missouri Friday through Saturday. Friday is trending drier, but we can’t rule out a spot shower or two. This will bring an increase in cloudiness and storms ending the work week and for the first part of the weekend.
