Funeral Wednesday for man shot during fight on Dawn Ridge Road
The victim of a Columbia shooting will be buried Wednesday morning.
28-year-old Cameron Caruthers was shot on Dawn Ridge Road last week.
Columbia police say they were originally called out to a home invasion with a gun.
When they arrived, they say they found two men inside the home. One of them was detained for questioning before being released.
Detectives have confirmed the shooting originated from a fight between two people.
They also say robbery was not the motive for the shooting, but it’s still unclear exactly what happened.
Caruthers’ funeral will be from 10:00 to 10:30 Wednesday morning at Parkade Baptist Church in Columbia.
