Fayette under boil advisory

The City of Fayette was put under a boil advisory Wednesday night.

According to the city administrator, the city was disconnecting its old water plant when the disconnection failed.

City crews were making repairs as early as 7 p.m. and the water is expected to be back on later Wednesday night.

Due to the water pressure dropping below the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ standards, a boil advisory was issued for residents and businesses that receive water from the city.

Be sure to boil water for three minutes before use and dispose of ice.

If you have questions, you are encouraged to contact City Hall at 660-248-5246 or the city’s utility office at 660-248-2214.
