Two arrested after stolen vehicle found in Callaway County
UPDATE 5/24: Andrea Martin, 41, of Columbia was the person driving the stolen vehicle. The deputy knew that Martin was a wanted fugitive out of Callaway and Montgomery counties for felony stealing charges. The deputy conducted a registration check on the observed vehicle and determined it to be stolen out of Columbia, MO.
The vehicle turned onto County Road 204 near Fulton and was subjected to a traffic stop. All four people inside of the vehicle were detained.
The passenger in the vehicle, Robert Gibson, 41, of Columbia, was arrested along with Martin.
Martin was charged with first degree tampering with a motor vehicle and had a felony Callaway County warrant and felony Montgomery County warrant. Martin’s bond was set at $47,500.
Gibson was charged with possession of an illegal weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gibson’s bond was set at $1,000.
ORIGINAL STORY: Four people were detained after a stolen vehicle was pulled over in Callaway County Tuesday.
According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was patrolling State Road HH and saw a wanted fugitive driving the vehicle.
The deputy followed the vehicle and determined it was stolen from Columbia.
The vehicle was then stopped on County Road 204 near Fulton.
Four people were detained and the scene was secure as of 9:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office expects to released more information Wednesday and said the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Fulton Police Department were assisting in the investigation.
