Columbia man shot on Dawn Ridge Road dies from injuries
A man who was shot during a disturbance Monday, on the 1300 block of Dawn Ridge Road has died from his injuries.
The victim is identified as Cameron Scott Caruthers, 28, of Columbia.
Columbia Police say the shooting was originally dispatched as a home invasion with a gun.
When police arrived, they found two men inside the house.
The second man involved in the shooting was detained for questioning and was released. According to a news release, detectives confirmed that the shooting evolved from a disturbance between people who knew each other and that robbery was not the motive for the shooting.
