Scattered showers and cooler through Tuesday evening

TODAY: Cooler weather is filtering into Mid-Missouri making it feel more like early spring. Highs this afternoon will struggle to climb into the mid and upper 60s, as clouds and scattered rain showers will be in the forecast. Rain will come in waves through the day, as the upper level low exits to the east. Rain amounts will range from 0.01″ to 0.50″ with the highest in northeast Mid-Missouri in Monroe and Audrain counties. Winds through the day will be out of the northwest under 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Light rain looks possible through this evening, while storms do not look likely. Temperatures will be slightly below normal dropping to the upper 40s overnight.

EXTENDED: Wednesday looks to be the coolest day of the week with high temperatures in the low 60s. There is still a chance of showers with the best chance east of HWY 63. We’ll start to warm back up on Thursday with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 70s. We’ll pick up a slight chance of t-storms late Thursday night mainly north of I-70 and spotty storms are possible Friday ahead of a storm system. Our best chance of rain moves in Saturday and Saturday night as a cold front slowly drifts through and stalls, keeping a chance of storms in the forecast for Sunday. Flash Flooding does not look to be a concern at this time. It looks drier by Memorial Day as this front moves south of our area. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s through the holiday weekend. For additional weather updates watch ABC17 News and follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
