Police, medical units on scene near connector
UPDATE 1:20 p.m.: ABC 17 News confirmed police were called about a home invasion with a gun. Officers found two men inside the house.
One man had been shot in the lower stomach and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second person was detained for questioning.
UPDATE 1:03 p.m.: Our ABC 17 News crews said public information officers are on the scene, about to give an update.
A neighbor told our ABC 17 News crews they saw a man being taken off on a stretcher while getting CPR.
Another man is apparently detained in a squad car right now. It’s unclear if he’s under arrest. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
ORIGINAL: ABC 17 News has reporters at the scene after troopers, officers and medical crews are called to an address in east Columbia.
They responded to a neighborhood off Dawn Ridge Road around 12:15 Monday afternoon. It is by Clark Lane just past the I-70, Hwy. 63 connector. Police tape is up in the area.
