Cloudy and warm Thursday, with increasing evening storms

TODAY: Temperatures this afternoon are still feeling like summer, but with an added bonus, as winds aren’t as breezy as yesterday. A plume of moisture is creeping into Mid-Missouri this afternoon which is causing the overcast skies most of us are seeing. Temperatures will warm to the low 80s under a partly cloudy sky. There is a SMALL chance for storms to develop near HWY 24 this evening where there is a Marginal Risk.

TONIGHT: A storm system that could bring gusty 60 mph winds and large hail overnight moves in between 1AM and 6AM. There is a slight risk for severe weather tonight. Winds will be variable coming easterly under 7 mph with temperatures in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Friday late morning and early afternoon will bring some dry time before storms increase during the day again. Storms look to move into west Mid-Missouri by 3PM-5PM. Periods of storms will continue through Friday night and into Saturday evening. A preliminary look at rain through the end of the week indicates 1″ to 4″ possible by Saturday evening, with the highest rain totals near HWY 65. Newest data suggests we’ll dry out by Saturday evening leaving a pleasant end to the weekend with more sun, low humidity and highs near average in the low 70s.
