Search warrant reveals more details on remains found buried in Vandalia home

ABC 17 News requested more documents in the case of the remains found buried in a Vandalia home.

A search warrant was requested for John Lue’s home at 801 Limit Street in Vandalia and executed on May 15. Police found human remains and a plastic air mattress that the remains were buried in.

The human remains were identified as Jennifer Lynn Middleton through dental records.

On May 5, a woman told the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office that on April 29, Lue texted her saying that he was under investigation for killing someone and that he buried the body in his home.

According to the documents, Lue told the sheriff’s office that on Dec. 24, 2015, his live-in girlfriend, Middleton, died at his home. Lue said that he buried Middleton in a plastic air mattress two to two-and-a-half feet deep in the ground.
