Vandalia police identify remains found in home
UPDATE: The remains have been identified as Jennifer Lynn Middleton through dental records.
ORIGINAL STORY: Vandalia Police say they’ve identified a body found at home earlier this month.
Police tell ABC 17 News they’ll have an update on the investigation Monday and say they’ll announce it at a news conference Monday afternoon.
You’ll recall John Lue II is charged in Audrain County with abandonment of a corpse.
Court documents say he admitted to burying Jennifer Middleton under his house after she died in 2015. They also say he admitted to being with her when she died.
An autopsy was conducted to confirm the identity of the remains.
Law enforcement is expected to reveal the results of that autopsy at a 1:00 p.m. news conference Monday, which we will be live streaming here.
