Boone County man arrested for DWI, threatening police officers

A Boone County man was arrested on Thursday after threatening Columbia police officers, driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

Jeremy Whyte was driving the wrong way down Vandiver and entered traffic on Providence Road. One passenger in the car that was driving when police approached the car jumped into the back seat. Whyte was sitting in the front seat. Another passenger in the in the car who was 16-years-old told officers that Whyte was driving while intoxicated.

When officers took Whyte to University Hospital for evaluation, he allegedly threatened the officers.

Whyte was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, second degree endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanor fourth degree assault and felony harassment.
