Hermann man charged, accused of spitting on pizza

A Hermann man is charged after allegedly spitting on a pizza ordered by a police officer.

A probable cause statement said the officer and his two daughters ordered the pizza at Casey’s General Store at 811 Market Street in December.

Police executed a search warrant at the store in February and obtained surveillance video. Documents said the video showed former employee Daniel Robinson throwing pizza toppings on the floor before placing them on the pizza. Someone also told investigators they saw Robinson spit on the pizza before putting it in the oven.

According to the probable cause statement, investigators spoke with Robinson at the Hermann Police Department in March. It said Robinson confessed to throwing the toppings on the floor and to spitting on the pizza. It also said Robinson admitted to doing this because he had been arrested prior to this incident by a Hermann officer and believed he had been treated unfairly.

Prosecutors filed three counts of harassment against Robinson in April, two of them felonies.

ABC 17 News reached out to Casey’s General Store, but as of Thursday afternoon had not received a response.
