Camden County woman life flighted to University Hospital after assault

A Camden County woman was life flighted to University Hospital in Columbia for a brain bleed after her significant other assaulted her.

Camden County deputies were called to the 100 block of Access Drive in Camdenton for a domestic assault.

When deputies arrived on scene, a man answered the door and invited them inside. Deputies saw the disarray in the house and found a woman pulling herself up off of the living room floor. She had blood on her face, nose, mouth and hands. Deputies asked the woman if she wanted medical attention, and the woman asked them to call an ambulance.

The man who answered the door said that James Weidner was in the back bedroom hiding from the deputies. The deputies found Weidner and saw blood on his hand and arm. They eventually took him outside and detained him.

According to the woman, Weidner and the other man were with her at the car show in Lake Ozark and got seperated. The woman took a cab home. Once Weidner got home, she asked him where the truck was, which is when the assault started.

The woman said that Weidner hit her with his hands and feet, dragged her by her hair and took ceramic tiles from the living room table and hit her in the head with them.

The woman was taken to Lake Regional Hospital for her injuries. Deputies later found out that the woman was life flighted to University hospital for a brain bleed.
