Spotty Showers Today with Storms Increasing Tonight
TODAY: It’s a warm and humid start with temperatures in the mid 60s this morning. Morning sun will be followed by increasing clouds and a spotty rain/thunderstorm chance from 11AM through 3PM for those south of I-70. This first round does not appear to be severe. It looks warm as temperatures reach the low 80s again today.
TONIGHT: Storms will be increasing tonight from northern Missouri. It looks dry for the evening commute, while there is a risk for severe weather starting up after 8PM through 5AM Thursday morning. Areas north of I-70 are under a Slight Risk for damaging wind and large hail. Heavy rain is also possible overnight through Thursday morning. Temperatures overnight stay well above normal again in the mid 60s with a southwest wind of 5-10 mph.
EXTENDED: There will be a good chunk of dry time during the day on Thursday. South of I-70 there is a Slight Risk for damaging wind and large hail. Newest timing is from 5PM-10PM. Rain amounts look to range from 0.50″ in northeast Mid-Missouri to up to 1.50″ in southwest Mid-Missouri. Rain will likely move out by early Friday morning near I-44, leaving us dry as we head into the weekend. It will be less humid heading into the weekend. High temperatures will stay in the low 70s Thursday and Friday, warming into the upper 70s to near 80 this weekend with a warm, dry Mother’s Day.
