One person in custody near Millersburg following pursuit
UPDATE 5/9: According to the probable cause statement, Chatman was driving over 100 miles per hour when fleeing from police, caused $750 in damages to patrol vehicles and even rammed into a patrol vehicle that two deputies who were taking shelter behind.
UPDATE: The Boone County Sheriff’s Department has identified Friday night’s chase suspect as Douglas Chatman.
The department said the chase started in Columbia when a deputy tried to pull him over for traffic violations. A sergeant said at one point during the chase, Chatman rammed his car into a patrol car.
A deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Chatman was arrested on suspicion of assault, property damage, resisting arrest and other driving violations.
ORIGINAL: One person was taken into custody after a chase ended in Callaway County Friday night.
The pursuit started around 11 p.m. and came to an end west of the I-70 Millersburg exit. Westbound lanes were temporarily closed while law enforcement agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Boone County Sheriff’s Department, worked the scene.
The white SUV driven by the suspect was searched and a dog was retrieved from it.
The vehicle was towed from the scene around 12: 45 a.m. Saturday.
