Missouri governor and attorney general honor fallen law enforcement officers

The names of four fallen Missouri law enforcement officers were added to the Wall of Heroes at the Law Enforcement Memorial shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Gov. Eric Greitens and Attorney General Josh Hawley spoke at the ceremony honoring the officers.

“They leave their families to do dangerous work. They do this not because they have to, not for a paycheck, not because it’s just their job. They do it because it’s who they are,” Greitens said.

Two of the officers added to the memorial– Deputy Paul A. Clark, of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office, and Officer Blake C. Snyder, of the St. Louis County Police Department– died in the line of duty in 2016.

The third officer added to the memorial, Lakeshire Police Department Officer Ronald E. Strittmatter, died in 2015, and the fourth, Pleasant Hill Police Department Officer S. David Nelson, died in 1917.
