Tree down across road in northwest Boone County after storms overnight

UPDATE 8:00am: Our ABC 17 News crew checked the area and it appears crews have now removed this tree from the roadway.

ORIGINAL: A tree is blocking a Boone County road after storms moved through overnight Wednesday.

Boone County EMA sent out an alert about the hazard around 5:45 Wednesday morning.

It says the tree is down across the roadway and bridge at Wilhite Road and Route E.

That’s in northwest Boone County.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area until crews are able to remove it.
