Parents notified of threat at Centralia High School
The Centralia R-VI School District sent a message to parents Wednesday alerting them to a threat that was made by a minor.
“You may have heard that there was a threat at the high school,” said superintendent Darin Ford. “Administration and law enforcement acted swiftly and decisively in addressing the situation. It is now a Juvenile Office matter.”
Ford told ABC 17 News the threat was not made directly to the school but rather overheard by students, who told faculty members.
“As always, the safety of our students is our first priority,” said Ford. “In the future, should you have any concerns regarding student safety, please communicate those to district administration. Our partnership is important in providing a safe and nurturing educational environment.”
The district would not release any other details about the threat.
