Sunny and pleasant start to the work week

TODAY: Temperatures this afternoon are absolutely splendid. It’s a great afternoon to get outside and enjoy some lunch, as highs are in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Through the day thanks to the breezy winds and sunshine, we’ll see temperatures climb into the upper 70s. It will be a breezy day, as winds will be out of the southeast up to 15 mph with gusts as high as 30. All in all it’s the picture perfect spring day.

TONIGHT: Few clouds expected to be on the increase through the evening ahead of an approaching storm system. It’ll be a mild evening, as temperatures will only fall into the lower 50s. Winds will be out of the southeast under 12 mph.

EXTENDED: The warming trend continues into Tuesday as temperatures will reach near 80 degrees. Clouds will gradually be on the increase through Tuesday ahead of our next storm system we are tracking. There is currently a marginal risk for severe storms as we head into Tuesday evening after 8 PM, for southwest Mid-Missouri. This will be the onset of a very unsettled weather pattern that will bring us cooler temperatures to close out the week and heavy rain likely each and every day. As we head into the latter half of next week, the rain looks to once again bring a flooding threat to Mid-Missouri, as current estimates look to bring about 3+” of rain.
